GLOSSARY / Types and Resistances

Absolute Resonance

Types and Resistances

At a Glance

A chain of at least 3 consecutive skills with the same Sin affinity.

GUIDEHow It Works

Selecting at least 3 matching skills consecutively creates Absolute Resonance. It is a form of Resonance and also satisfies Resonance-count requirements.

Participating skills receive an Offense Level bonus based on the consecutive chain's length. This does not stack additively with ordinary Resonance; each skill receives whichever bonus is higher.

When an effect checks Absolute Resonance, count the consecutive chain, not all matching skills in the turn.

NOTESCommon Misunderstandings

  • Do not confuse the total number of matching skills with the number in a consecutive chain.

EXAMPLEWorked Example

A consecutive Absolute Resonance chain

  1. Select Wrath, Wrath, Wrath consecutively
  2. Wrath Absolute Resonance is 3
  3. Wrath, Gloom, Wrath gives 2 Wrath Resonance, not Absolute Resonance

In longer mixed chains, each skill individually receives the higher of its ordinary and Absolute Resonance bonuses.
