GUIDEMechanics and How to Use

At a Glance

A Blunt attacker that uses S2 Smackdown whenever it appears to gain Attack Power Up and Damage Up next turn, then overpowers clashes with Blunt S2 and S3.

Core Mechanics

  • S2 Smackdown's self-buff: On use, grants Attack Power Up and 1 Damage Up next turn. Attack Power Up raises the Final Power of attack skills, so S2 and S3 become stronger in Clashes the next turn. Coin Ⅰ also inflicts 2 Tremor on Heads Hit (Uptie Ⅳ).
  • S3 — Upheaval: A 2-Coin big hit. If Coin Ⅰ lands Heads, the next Coin gains +2 power, and Coin Ⅱ triggers Tremor Burst on hit. Most of its power comes from Coin Power, so it is a skill to use after raising SP.
  • Tremor is supplementary: Coin Ⅰ of S1 Bat Bash (on Heads Hit at lower Uptie, on hit at higher Uptie) inflicts 3 Tremor, and S2 inflicts 2 Tremor (Uptie Ⅳ). He has no effects that increase Tremor Count, so S3's Tremor Burst can be treated as a minor bonus that brings Stagger a little closer.
  • Defense skill — Counter: A counter that strikes back after taking the opponent's attack. S2's Attack Power Up does not apply. It fizzles if he is staggered, so use it when he has HP to spare.
  • Passives: The combat passive Ressentiment (4 Envy Resonance) gives +10% damage against enemies with higher max HP than his. The support passive Spite-driven (5 Envy Owned; unlocked at Uptie Ⅲ) gives +10% Blunt skill damage to the 1 ally with the lowest max HP.

How to Use

S2 has only 2 copies, so it will not come every turn, but prioritize it when it is in hand, then go for Clashes with S2 or S3 on the buffed next turn. All of his attacks are Blunt, so deploy him in fights where Blunt is effective. His Speed is a slow 1–4 (1–5 and 2–5 at higher Uptie), so he works well placed at the back where he is likely to be targeted. The combat passive needs 4 Envy Resonance for a small effect, so it is not worth forcing.
