Guard
Related names and search terms: Guard, Shield
At a Glance
A defense skill that normally absorbs incoming damage with Shield.
GUIDEHow It Works
Before the attack from the slot you targeted with Guard, gain Shield based on Defense Power. It lasts only that turn and disappears at the turn boundary even if some remains.
Shield takes damage in place of HP. It reduces HP loss but does not prevent every On Hit status or effect.
Guard Power is modified by the difference between your Defense Level and the attacker's Offense Level. Check it separately from resistance and HP. Clashable Guard differs from ordinary Guard.
NOTESCommon Misunderstandings
- Unlike Evade, Guard does not negate the hit or its On Hit effects.
- Do not confuse ordinary Guard with Clashable Guard.
EXAMPLEWorked Example
Gaining Shield with Guard
- Aim Guard at the enemy attack slot
- Gain the Shield before the selected attack
- Check absorbed damage and any remaining On Hit effects
Shield amount depends on Defense Power, level differences, and other effects. Check the displayed values and skill conditions.
