GLOSSARY / E.G.O

Overclock

E.G.O

At a Glance

A way to deliberately select a Corrosion skill by paying an additional cost.

GUIDEHow It Works

Hold the E.G.O selection icon to use Corrosion at 1.5 times the normal Sin resource and SP cost. Fractional resource costs round up.

With at least 1.5 times the required resources, Stable Overclock permits target selection according to the Corrosion skill's rules. With at least the normal cost but less than 1.5 times it, Unstable Overclock cannot distinguish friend from foe, and missing resources become negative.

Corrosion differs from Awakening in effects and targets. Paying more does not always make it better; read the skill before use.

NOTESCommon Misunderstandings

  • Do not assume automatic Corrosion uses the same controls or permits the same targeting.

EXAMPLEWorked Example

An E.G.O with a resource cost of 3

  1. Have the normal cost of 3
  2. Stable Overclock needs 1.5 times the cost, rounded up to 5
  3. At 3–4, Overclock is unstable: no target selection, and insufficient resources become negative

This example illustrates resource scaling. The SP cost also becomes 1.5 times its normal value.
