3 things to understand first
- Win es against “”. This deals 20 damage to the enemy and reduces by 1, lowering its Turn Start healing.
- Form 1 stops at 1 HP and triggers a check at Turn End. Both success and failure lead to form 2, so its survival is not a bug.
- In form 2, break the Head with Blunt attacks to stop all Parts next turn. It still attacks on the turn the Head breaks, so maintain your es.
GUIDEKeys to the fight
Turn numbers indicate a typical sequence. HP loss and Stagger can change the order, so also check the names of the skills the enemy is using.
Find a response based on how you lost
- It keeps healing and the fight will not end
- Form 1 heals 10 HP per at Turn Start. It starts with 3, healing 30 HP. Win against “” to reduce this value, and focus your attacks.
- Its HP will not drop below 1
- In Canto I, reduce form 1 to 1 HP and proceed to the Turn End check. Other encounters may change forms on Body destruction alone; that condition does not apply here.
- Breaking the Head did not stop the attacks
- Head destruction stops all Parts next turn. It still attacks on the turn the Head breaks, so against the remaining skills.
- Debuffs disappeared after the form change
- Form 2 is treated as a separate enemy, resetting debuffs applied to form 1. After the change, choose actions based on the new HP and attacks.
Form 1
Reduce healing and bring main-body HP down to 1
- The battle starts with 3 . At Turn Start, it heals × 10 HP, so prioritize winning against “”. Each win deals 20 damage and removes 1 .
- Blunt and Sloth are effective. Form 1 alternates between 2 “”, 1 “”, and 1 “”, and 2 “” plus 2 “”. Take necessary es and use spare actions to damage the main body.
- The Body remains targetable and active after destruction. In Canto I, the event occurs at the end of the turn when main-body HP reaches 1; do not apply Part-break conditions from other encounters.
Main-body HP at 1 / Turn End check
Avoid failure's extra damage while changing forms
- The check favors Sloth, and Gregor receives a +4 bonus. The required value is listed as 6 (9 in parentheses), so choose using the success prediction displayed in battle.
- Both success and failure lead to the next form. Failure costs the selected Sinner 25 HP and grants 3 to all Parts for 2 turns. Aim for success; if you fail, watch for increased damage immediately after the transition.
- Form 2 is treated as a different enemy; debuffs from form 1 do not carry over. Switch to reducing its new 383 main-body HP.
Form 2 / turns with the Head intact
Maintain Clashes on the turn you break the Head
- The Head has 50 and is weak to Blunt. Match strong skills against “” and “”, preventing , , and main-body healing while damaging the Head.
- Breaking the Head stops all Parts next turn. It does not cancel every attack immediately, so maintain the current turn's es.
- The Body's also heals HP if its second hits. Keep enough actions for necessary es rather than spending everything on the Head.
The turn after Head destruction
Focus damage on the main body while all Parts are inactive
- All Parts stop for 1 turn after Head destruction. Focus strong attacks to finish the main body. The Head regenerates, so prepare for attacks to resume if the boss survives.
- The Head has ×2 Blunt resistance; the Body has ×2 Slash and ×1.5 Blunt. Choose targets based on your skills' physical types. Breaking the Body also grants 2 to all Parts from next turn onward, helping recovery.
- Form 2 has no normal . Use the special shutdown from Head destruction rather than HP-based .
NOTESUnique effects and cautions
Easy-to-miss details
- Reaching 1 HP in form 1 triggers phase progression. It is not a normal kill awaiting resolution.
- Failing the transition check costs 25 HP and grants the enemy 3 for 2 turns. Even success continues into form 2.
- All Parts still act on the turn the Head breaks. Next turn's shutdown is not an immediate cancellation.
- Form 2 has no normal . Use the shutdown after Head destruction and reduced Power after Body destruction.
Starts at 3. At Turn Start, heal stacks × 10 HP. Losing a with “” reduces stacks by 1.
Winning the as a Sinner reduces its healing. Prioritize “” rather than only making unopposed attacks against .
Form 1 cannot reach 0 HP. At the end of the turn when it reaches 1 HP, a check occurs. Both success and failure lead to form 2. Debuffs from form 1 are reset.
Reduce main-body HP to 1 and proceed to the check. Passing it does not end the battle itself.
Breaking the Head stops all Parts for the following 1 turn. Actions continue on the turn it breaks, and the Head regenerates after 1 turn.
against current attacks and concentrate damage next turn. This effect is separate from normal .
PARTYRecommended teams and preparation
What to prepare first
- Deploy 5 Sinners. Prepare your core team's levels, HP, and SP using the dungeon's recommended Lv. 7 and the enemy's Lv. 8 as guides.
- Bring Blunt attacks effective against your intended Parts in both forms. Wrath and Sloth are also effective. Focusing Slash on form 1 runs into its ×0.5 resistance.
- The transition check favors Sloth. Check Gregor's bonus and choose a Sinner who can withstand losing 25 HP on failure.
Golden Fruit Clash role
Reduce to suppress healing in form 1.
Blunt damage for the Head
Reduce form 2's 50 Head HP to stop all Parts next turn.
Sloth check role
Avoid the damage bonus immediately after the transition. Gregor's +4 bonus can help.
One ally can fill several roles. First choose a main fighter who can win Clashes, then assign responsibilities for dangerous attacks and special mechanics.
