Focused Encounter

Battle Basics

At a Glance

A battle format where you target enemy skills or parts and choose between Clashes and unopposed attacks.

GUIDEHow It Works

Drag from your chain-panel skill to a skill slot above an enemy. Read enemy arrows to see who is being targeted.

You can Clash with an attack already aimed at you even when slower or tied. Intercepting an attack aimed at another ally requires higher Speed than that enemy slot. See Target Redirection and Interception for details.

When several allies select the same enemy slot, the last valid redirection determines its target. After all assignments, check Clashes, unopposed attacks, and defenses again before pressing START.

For enemies with parts, check each part's skills, HP, and Stagger state. See Parts and Part Breaks for shared HP damage and the difference between broken and excisable parts.

NOTESCommon Misunderstandings

  • Free targeting does not mean every pairing can take over a Clash.
